IndusInd Bank has appointed Pragati Gondhalekar as head of internal audit effective September 1, 2025. Gondhalekar brings over 27 years of global audit and consulting experience in financial services, having previously served as Country Head – Group Audit, India at Deutsche Bank and held leadership roles at L&T Finance and PwC. This appointment is part of a broader management reshuffle following significant losses due to accounting discrepancies in the bank’s derivatives portfolio. Earlier, Rajiv Anand took charge as Managing Director and CEO for a three-year term starting August 25, 2025. The bank faced a Rs 2,000-crore loss linked to derivatives accounting and its largest quarterly loss of Rs 2,329 crore in March 2025, leading to the resignation of former MD Sumant Kathpalia and deputy CEO Arun Khurana. Despite these challenges, IndusInd Bank returned to profitability in the June quarter with a net profit of Rs 604 crore after one-time adjustments. The new appointments aim to strengthen internal controls and governance as the bank works to restore stakeholder confidence and stabilize operations. (Updated 2 Sep 2025, 20:23 IST; source: link)
