Mohan Bhagwat Clarifies RSS Support Only For Ram Temple Movement
Saralnama

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat stated that the Ram temple movement was the only one supported by the organization, and RSS will not back any other movements including those for Kashi and Mathura. He clarified that RSS volunteers are free to participate in other movements independently. Speaking at a lecture series marking RSS’s centenary, Bhagwat emphasized that Islam has always had and will continue to have a place in India, advocating for mutual trust between Hindus and Muslims. He rejected religious attacks and said religion is a personal choice without coercion. On renaming streets and towns, Bhagwat said names of invaders should not be used, but Muslim names like APJ Abdul Kalam’s are acceptable. He identified religious conversion and illegal immigration as major causes of population imbalance and urged society to help the government prevent infiltration, emphasizing jobs should go to Indian citizens, including Muslims. Bhagwat also dismissed rumors about retirement age and denied any RSS-BJP rift. These remarks were made during a three-day lecture series at Delhi’s Vigyan Bhavan.
