Construction on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor is advancing steadily, with about 4.5 km of the 21 km tunnel between BKC and Shilphata completed using the New Austrian Tunneling Method. In Palghar district, 2 km of seven mountain tunnels have been excavated. Structural work on all eight stations in Gujarat is finished, with interior and finishing works ongoing. Elevated stations at Mumbai’s BKC, Virar, and Boisar are progressing, with base slab casting underway. The 508 km corridor includes 352 km in Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and 156 km in Maharashtra. Viaduct construction has reached 317 km, pier works 396 km, pier foundations 407 km, and girder casting 337 km. Noise barrier installation is underway in Gujarat, with 390,000 barriers installed over 195 km. Track bed construction covers 198 km, and rail welding for 200-meter panels is active. Over 1,600 overhead equipment masts have been installed between Surat and Bilimora, spanning 40 km. Stations in Gujarat are designed with sustainability features and passenger amenities, with key stations also serving as multimodal hubs integrating various transport modes.
