An IndiGo flight (6E-1507) traveling from Surat to Dubai with 150 passengers made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday morning due to a technical issue in the engine. The flight took off from Surat at 9 am, and after the pilot detected the problem while over the sea, he contacted Air Traffic Control and diverted the plane to Ahmedabad, where it landed safely around 11 am. All passengers were safely disembarked and later flown to Dubai on a replacement aircraft after a two-hour wait. IndiGo engineers are inspecting the aircraft before it is cleared to fly again. This incident marks the fourth emergency landing in India in August, following technical issues on two Air India flights, including a door lock malfunction on a Delhi-Raipur flight that delayed passengers on the runway for about an hour. No injuries were reported in any of these incidents. (Updated 28 Aug 2025, 18:29 IST; source: link)
