The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has prepared a detailed project report for a ₹320 crore infrastructure plan under its Green Corridor Project to reduce traffic congestion on Shaheed Path. The plan includes a 900-metre flyover costing around ₹150 crore, along with 700 metres of loops and 300 metres of ramps costing ₹170 crore, forming an integrated elevated network. This network will provide direct connectivity between Pipraghat and Kisan Path, starting near Gate No. 6 of Janeshwar Mishra Park on G20 road and extending towards Shaheed Path. The design includes interchanges enabling seamless branching towards Kisan Path, Ekana Stadium, Arjunganj, and nearby areas along the Gomti river. The project aims to alleviate heavy traffic burdens faced by daily commuters, especially during major events at Ekana Stadium. Additionally, the LDA plans to restore three deteriorating gates of the Chhota Imambara with a ₹6 crore budget and beautify the Rifa-e-Aam Club with infrastructure upgrades costing around ₹5 crore. Proposals are also underway to upgrade the Gandhi Bhawan museum and expedite land mobilization for Naimish Nagar and Varun Vihar development initiatives. Construction is expected to begin after tendering processes are completed. (Updated 28 Aug 2025, 12:42 IST; source: link)
