CESC Issues Safety Guidelines for Public Ganesha Idols in Mysuru

The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has issued safety guidelines for organisations installing Ganesha idols in public places in Mysuru and surrounding districts. CESC Managing Director Munigopal Raju emphasized the importance of safety during the festival and advised organisers to take all necessary precautions to prevent incidents. He warned against unauthorised power connections and instructed that proper permission must be obtained from CESC offices. Organisers must ensure that no electricity lines pass near idol installation sites or pandals, and mantaps should not be erected beneath or close to power lines. A safe distance must be maintained between electricity lines and festival structures. Due to the rainy season, extra precautions are necessary, including not tying banners or boards to electricity poles or transformers and ensuring tall flags or cutouts do not contact overhead lines. If power lines obstruct procession routes, organisers should report to CESC for temporary power suspension. The public can contact CESC at 1912 for electricity-related assistance.
