Reliance’s Jio Haptik has introduced enterprise-grade AI agents for small and medium businesses (SMBs) through its Interakt platform, starting at ₹10,000 for 2,000 AI-powered conversations. These AI agents automate business processes using intelligent WhatsApp and voice features, offering 24/7 support at a cost of ₹3 to ₹5 per conversation, about half the cost of human agents. The solution, already used by over 50,000 SMBs, resolves up to 80% of repetitive customer queries automatically and increases lead-to-sale conversions by 20-25%, according to CEO Ahshad Jussawalla. The AI agents support 22 Indian languages, comply with enterprise-grade security standards, and can autonomously handle tasks such as bookings, follow-ups, and lead qualification. Early adopters include sectors like clinics, education, and real estate. While some SMBs appreciate the cost savings and scalability, others express concerns about the lack of emotional connection in chatbot interactions. Experts note the importance of cost-benefit analysis and highlight data protection and fraud management as considerations. Major enterprises like Jio, Cred, Ola, and Unilever also use Haptik’s conversational AI solutions. (Updated 3 Sep 2025, 18:23 IST; source: link)
