Kavitha Resigns From BRS After Suspension Over Party Disputes
Saralnama

Kavitha, Telangana Jagruthi leader and daughter of BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao, announced her resignation from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and submitted her MLC resignation to the Council Speaker following her suspension for alleged anti-party activities. The suspension came after Kavitha publicly accused senior BRS leaders T. Harish Rao and J. Santosh Rao of conspiring with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to undermine her family and the party. She criticized Harish Rao and Santosh Rao for plotting against her and her brother KT Rama Rao, alleging they aimed to damage the party and family reputation, particularly concerning the Kaleshwaram project. Kavitha stated that despite her efforts supporting the party after release from Tihar jail, she was suspended unjustly. She also accused Revanth Reddy of targeting her family with legal cases while protecting Harish Rao. Kavitha had previously raised concerns with her brother about internal conspiracies but felt no action was taken. The BRS suspended her after her remarks against the two leaders, who are close relatives of the party chief and long-time associates of the party. This development marks a significant rift within the BRS leadership. (Updated 3 Sep 2025, 15:29 IST; source: link)
