Continuous heavy rainfall in Jammu & Kashmir has caused rivers including the Tawi, Jhelum, and Chenab to swell, leading to flood-like conditions in multiple districts such as Doda, Bhalesa, Bhaderwah, Rajouri, and Srinagar. Several houses have been inundated due to rising water levels. The Jammu & Kashmir Meteorological Department issued advisories warning of heavy rain, cloudbursts, landslides, and mudslides. Schools have been closed in affected areas, and residents have been advised to stay indoors and avoid travel near water bodies. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alert warnings for several districts in Jammu & Kashmir, as well as parts of Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha. Rainfall measurements recorded between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning showed significant precipitation, with Reasi receiving the highest at 230.5 mm. Widespread rainfall was also reported in other Indian states including Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and the Andaman Islands.
