How to unlock all characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ

In 2018 Bandai Namco released its latest 2D fighting game from the Dragon Ball universe: Dragon ball fighterz.

Since then the game has been labeled the best experience within the franchise. In fact, it receives new types of content to keep the title fresh and the community active.

When players play for the first time they can go straight to the Freeplay, where they will have a range of characters at their disposal. But there are more characters that can be unlocked by reaching certain achievements or by purchasing DLCs.

Here’s everything you need to unlock all the characters in Dragon ball fighterz.

How to unlock characters in Dragon ball fighterz

Android 21

Android 21 was a character that was created for the game. Although the character does not appear in the series or in the manga, he has a familiar appearance since he is a cross between Buu and an Android.

You can unlock this character by simply completing all three story mode arcs in Dragon ball fighterz. There are a total of nine characters in each arc, so you will need to complete 27 in total.

Vegeta SSGSS

You can play with Vegeta in the initial version. But if you want to have access to his powerful form of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, you will need to work within the game to be able to achieve it.

To get this form you have to get 300,000 Zeni in all game modes. If you can’t always beat Arcade mode Gravitational Space Course with a score of A or beat hard mode.

Like Vegeta, Goku is also available in other forms beyond the initial one, but you can get his mode Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan in a similar way to Vegeta.

In the case of Goku you will need to get 500,000 Zeni or a score of A on hard difficulty in the Arcade game mode Hyperbolic Chamber of Time Course.

The first DLC character to join the game was Bardock, Goku’s father. He was introduced in both his base aspect and his Super Saiyan form. To get this character you must buy the DLC of the first season.

Along with other characters, the DLC for the first season included the famous character Broly. Despite being a recently remodeled character in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly, the character was incorporated into FighterZ in his Legendary Super Saiyan form from the past.

You can get the fusion of the SSGSS Goku and Vegeta in the DLC of the first season. Merge is only available in the form Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. But to no one’s surprise, he is still one of the most popular fighters in the game.

Next to the launch of Vegito in the package Potara Fusions of the first season DLC, Zamasu, the fusion of Zamasu and Goku Black, is available for purchase. The shape was drawn directly from the anime Dragon ball super and has a set unique skill set.

Goku Base

Although many of his Super Saiyan forms come out of nowhere, Goku Base is only available if you buy him both in the DLC of Saiyan Base Forms or the first pass of the DLC. This form is able to get a powerful red form of Kaio-Ken instead of the common Super Saiyan.

Vegeta Base

Like Goku, Vegeta has his base form in his DLC pack. Vegeta’s form is drawn from before the Saiyan saga, as he is equipped with his outstanding Saiyan armor.

Android 17

To close the first pass of the DLC, the DLC Brothers brings Android 17 into the game. Its form was taken from the series Dragon ball super rather than their initial appearances within the franchise.

Cooler is the other brother to enter the game in this pass. As one of the most popular villains in the franchise, Cooler is available to be purchased in his final form.

As first drop of the second DLC pass is the Crime fighters and includes one of the most powerful beings in the entire universe, Jiren. Jiren, the character that many fans have been hoping to buy, is now available in the store.

Videl / Great Saiyaman

Together with Jiren, the launch of Crime fighters it also featured two of the saga’s most popular heroes: the Great Saiyaman alongside Videl. In the case of the Great Saiyaman, you have many options on an aesthetic level. You can choose between its base with sunglasses and even opt for its helmet.

Videl has a couple of dresses that you can select from, including the look of World Tournament and that of Great Saiyaman.

Goku (child)

Even if Dragon Ball GT is not canonical, some of its characters have come to the game, including Goku child. As part of the second pass of DLCs you can unlock this character and use it in all game modes.

The movie villain Janemba is also available in season two DLC. But, as you might expect, it’s her Super Janemba form and not her comical base form.

Gogeta SSGSS

You can’t have Vegito without Gogeta. As part of the second season of DLCs, this merger also came to FighterZ.

Broly (Super)

Although Broly’s Legendary Super Saiyan form was added to the game in the first pass of DLCs, the final addition to the second pass was updated with the character’s form in Dragon ball super. Along with his base form, Broly also has three states: the Wrath, the Super Saiyan and the Super Saiyan Full Power.

Along with the additions of Dragon ball super, the game added one of the most popular characters from the Tournament of Power: Kelfa. The fusion of the Universe of the Six Saiyans between Kale and Caulifaila is one of the most recent additions as part of the third pass of DLCs.

Goku (Ultra Instinct)

Also introduced during the Tournament of Power, Ultra Instinct, Goku’s most powerful form, also came to FighterZ. You can buy this form in the third pass of DLCs.

Master Roshi

Everyone’s favorite teacher. Master Roshi should have been available from the start. However, the iconic character arrived in the game during the third pass of DLCs.
