The allowance received by the central employees is given under the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission. Dearness Allowance is increased according to the recommendation of DA Arrear. The Labor Bureau, a part of the Ministry of Labor, calculates this on the basis of the Consumer Price Index (CPI-IW). Dearness Allowance is given in the same proportion in which the inflation has increased. It is revised every 6 months! Now the 4 percent increase will be applicable from January 2023! Earlier in July also 4 percent dearness allowance was increased.
DA Arrear can reach up to 45% DA
The numbers of CPI-IW Index for Dearness Allowance (DA Arrear) January 2023 were released on 28 February! It has increased by 0.5 points. And the index has reached 132.8! Due to this increase, there will be an increase in dearness allowance in July 2023! DA/DR score increased by 1% in July for central employees and pensioners.
Means the dearness allowance of January 2023 was 42.37%! On this basis, their dearness allowance has been increased to 42 per cent. Now in the coming numbers for July, Dearness Allowance has been increased by 1%. Means now it has reached 43.08%! However, the numbers for the 5-month CPI-IW index are yet to come. Only after this it will be decided that how much DA / DR will increase.
