On 24 Aug 2025, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) inaugurated its national headquarters, Quaide Millath Centre, in Delhi at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The event was marked by lively qawwali music and featured young women wearing hijabs dancing alongside others, highlighting IUML's growing inclusion of women in leadership roles. IUML, a Kerala-based party allied with Congress, has actively promoted Muslim women’s participation in politics and social activities through its women’s wings like Haritha and the Muslim Students’ Federation. Women leaders like Najma from Malappuram and Shifana Naduthodi from Delhi shared how IUML supported their political and social engagement despite challenges. Fatima Muzaffar and Jayanthi Rajan were recently appointed to IUML’s National Council, reflecting the party’s emphasis on education and empowerment of women. IUML’s move to Delhi for its national office signals its expanding presence beyond Kerala. The party continues to focus on inclusive politics addressing religious, gender, and social identities.
