Bihar SIR: Only 10 Claims Filed by CPI (M-L) Liberation BLAs So Far
Saralnama

Only 10 claims and objections have been filed by Booth Level Agents (BLAs) in Bihar's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls since August 1. All these claims come from CPI (M-L) Liberation, a smaller ally in the Mahagathbandhan. Larger parties like RJD and Congress have not filed any objections. The Election Commission has noted that 1,60,813 BLAs are registered, but only two objections have been filed officially. The filing period ends on September 1, after which Electoral Registration Officers will decide on cases by September 25. CPI (M-L) Liberation reported cases of wrongly deleted voters like Mintu Paswan and Munna Paswan, who have applied to be re-enrolled. The Election Commission says it received over 1.4 lakh complaints directly from voters. Some BLAs say officials discourage complaints from them, preferring voters to complain directly. The Supreme Court has allowed claims with Aadhaar cards for this revision. The final electoral roll will be published by September 30, 2025. (Updated 27 Aug 2025, 19:01 IST; source: link)
