Afghanistan has announced a 17-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025, scheduled from September 9 to 28 in the UAE, with Rashid Khan as captain. The team features a spin-heavy lineup including Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, AM Ghazanfar, and Mohammad Nabi, who brings veteran experience. Rahmanullah Gurbaz is expected to provide strong starts in the powerplay, while AM Ghazanfar and Noor Ahmad are anticipated to challenge opposing batters. Afghanistan has shown strong performances in T20 internationals in recent years and will open their Asia Cup campaign against Hong Kong on September 9. Afghanistan is drawn in Group B alongside Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong, with the top two teams advancing to the Super Four stage.
