The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has termed the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) formed to examine three bills—Union Territories Government (Amendment) Bill 2025, Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill 2025, and Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill 2025—as a 'spectacle' and announced it will not send any members to the committee. The bills, introduced during the Monsoon Session, propose legal provisions to remove Prime Minister, Chief Ministers, or ministers from office if arrested on serious criminal charges and detained.
