The Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) has faced criticism from its alliance partner Congress for not strongly challenging corruption allegations linked to a Pune land deal. The controversy involves Parth Pawar, grandnephew of Sharad Pawar and son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Congress leaders believe the NCP (SP) missed an opportunity to demand Ajit Pawar's resignation and build momentum ahead of local body elections. Former Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole recently expressed concern that the NCP (SP) should have adopted a more aggressive stance. The subdued response is viewed by many as evidence that the Pawar family remains united despite the 2023 party split led by Ajit. Unlike the public feuds between Shiv Sena factions, the Pawars have avoided direct confrontation, maintaining family loyalty over political advantage.

Family Unity Takes Priority Over Political Confrontation
Despite the party split in 2023, the Pawar family has refrained from attacking each other publicly. This stands in contrast to the Shiv Sena factions led by Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray, who have engaged in open conflict since 2022. Even during last year's Lok Sabha campaign, family members competing against each other avoided personal attacks. Party MP Supriya Sule, Ajit's cousin and Parth's aunt, defended them publicly, questioning whether stamp duty was actually waived and demanding government clarification. Sharad Pawar later stated that a proper investigation should be conducted and facts presented to the public. Most NCP (SP) leaders declined to comment, saying Pawar had already addressed the issue.
