The Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party, which is allied with the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, has declared support for the Bahujan Samaj Party in Bihar's assembly elections. SBSP national spokesperson Arun Rajbhar announced that his party will back BSP candidates in seats where SBSP is not fielding anyone, and the BSP will reciprocate. This mutual support is expected to impact around 40 seats in Bihar's second phase voting scheduled for November 11. SBSP supporters participated in BSP chief Mayawati's rally in Kaimur district on Thursday. Despite this alliance in Bihar, the SBSP maintains that its partnership with the BJP in Uttar Pradesh remains unchanged. The decision reflects the SBSP's local unit's strategy in Bihar and may have future implications for Uttar Pradesh politics, particularly ahead of the 2027 state elections.

Strategic Alliance Between SBSP and BSP in Bihar Polls
The SBSP announced it will support BSP candidates on seats where its own nominations were rejected or where it lacks contestants. In return, the BSP will back SBSP in approximately 12 constituencies where only SBSP has candidates. This arrangement primarily benefits both parties in about 40 seats located in areas bordering Uttar Pradesh, which vote in the second phase. The alliance had minimal impact on the first phase, which concluded on Thursday. Arun Rajbhar clarified that the SBSP's alliance with the BJP in Uttar Pradesh remains intact and separate from its Bihar strategy. He emphasized that the Bihar decision was based on local unit recommendations and should be viewed independently from their Uttar Pradesh commitments to the NDA coalition.
