Karnataka Vote Deletion Probe: SIT Raids BJP Candidate's PropertiesSaralnama

The Karnataka Police SIT raided properties linked to BJP's Subhash Guttedar. They searched locations in Kalaburagi and Aland for evidence of voter list tampering. Officials found computer devices and documents related to the deletion of 6,018 names from Aland constituency's voter list before the 2023 state polls. Guttedar, who lost the election, denied involvement and claimed the allegations were politically motivated. The SIT is investigating how applications for voter deletions were submitted without voters' knowledge. They have identified five suspects but made no arrests yet. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had earlier raised this as an example of 'vote chori'. The Election Commission provided data to aid the investigation in September.
