Veteran BJP Leader Rajen Gohain Quits Party in AssamSaralnama

Assam BJP saw its biggest exit on in Guwahati. Rajen Gohain, a four-time MP and former Union Minister, quit the party. Gohain, 74, resigned with 17 supporters at the BJP state office. He was a key figure in the party for over 30 years. Gohain cited internal rifts as the main reason for leaving. He claimed older members were sidelined for newcomers. The veteran leader also expressed concerns about the reduced influence of Ahom and other indigenous communities after the 2023 delimitation.
