BJP efforts to strengthen the NDA coalition in Tamil Nadu hit a roadblock. T V Dhinakaran, AMMK founder, ruled out returning to the NDA as long as Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) remains its chief ministerial candidate. Dhinakaran met former Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai two days ago. He said there's no chance of joining NDA with EPS as CM candidate. Dhinakaran accused EPS of betrayal and vowed to fight against him. He rejected attempts by Delhi-based intermediaries to draw him back. O Panneerselvam (OPS) also remains reluctant to join NDA under EPS's leadership. The BJP is keen to expand its alliance in Tamil Nadu as the DMK-led coalition remains strong. EPS has conveyed his firm opposition to Dhinakaran and OPS's re-entry to top BJP leaders in Delhi. (Updated 25 Sep 2025, 15:44 IST; source: link)
