The Karnataka Police may take the legal route to obtain the required data for investigating the illegal deletion of names from the voter list of Aland constituency ahead of the 2023 state Assembly polls. Aland in Kalaburagi district was one of the two constituencies mentioned by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at his press conference, as part of allegations of electoral fraud. Karnataka Information Technology Minister Priyank Kharge has indicated that they may go to court, accusing the Election Commission of holding back crucial information regarding the deletion of names.
