Tejashwi to Contest All 243 Bihar Seats: RJD Leader's Bold MoveSaralnama

Tejashwi Yadav will contest all 243 seats in Bihar's upcoming Assembly elections. The RJD leader made this announcement on in Kanti, Muzaffarpur district. This move comes as the Congress seeks a larger share of seats in the Mahagathbandhan alliance. The Congress wants at least 70 constituencies, up from 19 seats won in the last election. Tejashwi's statement is seen as a message to alliance partners before seat-sharing talks. The RJD emerged as the single-largest party with 75 seats in the previous election. Congress's poor performance then may have cost the Opposition a chance to form the government. RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said Tejashwi is the obvious CM face for the alliance. However, Congress maintains the leadership question will be settled later. (Updated 15 Sep 2025, 07:55 IST; source: link)
