55 Andhra Pradesh SC/ST Students Secure IIT, NIT, Medical Seats

Fifty-five students from Andhra Pradesh’s SC and ST hostels passed JEE and NEET exams. They earned seats at IITs, NITs, and medical colleges. Among them, 20 are girls. These students trained at Dr B R Ambedkar coaching centres in Kurnool, NTR, and Guntur districts. Out of 176 students coached for JEE, 129 qualified. For NEET, 143 out of 180 passed. Twelve students got IIT seats, 30 joined NITs, and 13 secured MBBS admissions. Fourteen students entered BDS courses, and 19 will join other government technical institutes. The Andhra Pradesh government gave each top student ₹1 lakh and mementos on 25 Aug 2025. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu praised their success and promised to continue the cash reward yearly. He also announced seven new coaching centres to help more students. The Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society runs 191 coaching centres across the state, teaching over 1 lakh students in English medium from classes 5 to 12.
