UP Governor Anandiben Patel Urges 75% Attendance and Social Research

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel spoke at Bundelkhand University's 30th convocation in Jhansi on 27 Aug 2025. She asked universities to focus on social research and enforce 75% student attendance strictly. She suggested installing CCTV cameras to monitor attendance and said students should not be allowed to continue without meeting this requirement. Patel urged students to learn from ancient texts and modern technology. She also called for workshops on social issues like female foeticide and dowry. The governor expressed concern over stalled research projects and asked for faster progress. She sought help from DRDO to start defence research courses. DRDO Director General Dr Chandrika Kaushik, the chief guest, encouraged students to innovate and highlighted low workforce participation of women.
