India will celebrate National Teachers' Day on 5 September 2025. President Droupadi Murmu will give awards to 45 teachers from across the country. These teachers are honoured for their new teaching ideas and dedication to students. Each awardee will receive a certificate, ₹50,000 cash prize, and a silver medal. The Ministry has arranged their stay at The Ashok hotel in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, from 3 to 6 September. A briefing meeting for all awardees will be held on 3 September evening. Teachers' Day marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a great educator and former President of India. This day celebrates the important role teachers play in shaping the future of the nation. Students can make the day special by showing respect and gratitude to their teachers.
