Project Veer Gatha 5.0, launched in 2021, aims to inspire patriotism among students by sharing stories of gallantry awardees from India's Armed Forces. The initiative encourages young learners to honor the bravery and sacrifice of soldiers through creative submissions. This year's edition witnessed participation from over 1.92 crore students across 36 States and Union Territories. The project aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, emphasizing experiential learning. Since its launch, participation has steadily increased. In a significant expansion, Indian schools abroad were included this year. Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla from the Indian Air Force delivered a motivational message to participants. Winners are recognized at district, state, and national levels, with cash prizes and felicitation ceremonies. The initiative highlights India's great warriors and fosters respect for the nation's defense personnel among the younger generation.

Recognition and Rewards for Participants
Under Project Veer Gatha 5.0, students submitted various creative entries exploring the valor of Armed Forces personnel and India's legendary warriors. The selection process follows the NEP 2020 curricular structure, divided into four stages. A total of 100 national winners will be chosen, each receiving a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and felicitation in New Delhi. Beyond national recognition, 2,956 district-level winners and 288 State and UT-level winners will be honored in their respective regions. This multi-tiered recognition system ensures that efforts of students across various geographies are acknowledged, motivating more participants to engage with the stories of courage and sacrifice that define India's defense heritage.
