2 min read

Many working professionals understand the importance of management education but cannot afford a career break. The Post Graduate Certificate in Business Management (PGCBM) offered by XLRI (Xavier School of Management) addresses this challenge through a one-year online programme designed for mid-career professionals. Delivered in collaboration with VC Now, this certificate programme combines live online sessions with a mandatory five-day campus immersion at XLRI's Jamshedpur campus. The curriculum covers essential business disciplines including finance, marketing, operations, strategy, and leadership. Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the programme is taught by experienced XLRI faculty and uses a blended pedagogy of lectures, case studies, and group projects. Participants gain alumni status upon completion, enhancing their career prospects without interrupting their professional journey. The programme particularly suits professionals with at least two years of work experience seeking to strengthen their strategic and leadership capabilities.

Curriculum Structure and Learning Approach

The PGCBM curriculum begins with foundational modules including Economics for Managers, Accounting for Business Professionals, Business and Corporate Laws, and Principles of Marketing. It then advances to specialized topics such as Business Research Methods, Organisational Behaviour, Data Visualisation, Analytics and AI, and Corporate Finance. The programme also covers Human Resource Management, Supply Chain and Operations, Business Strategy, and Digital Leadership and Innovation. A capstone project concludes the learning journey. The programme requires a bachelor's degree plus minimum two years of full-time work experience. The duration is one year with a fee of INR 3.7 lakhs. Strong industry recognition and XLRI alumni status await successful participants.
