Vote counting for the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union elections is currently in progress, revealing a tight race between Left Unity and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad for the four central panel positions. The elections, held on Tuesday, recorded a 67 per cent voter turnout, slightly lower than the previous year's 70 per cent. The contest primarily reflects ideological divisions on campus, with Left Unity—a coalition of the All India Students' Association, Students' Federation of India, and Democratic Students' Federation—facing off against the RSS-affiliated ABVP. According to available trends after counting over 4,300 votes, the races for president, vice-president, general secretary, and joint secretary remain competitive. ABVP has claimed victory in 14 of 26 declared councillor seats. Around 1,500 votes are still pending, and final results are expected to be announced later.
