CITS Admission 2024-25
Government of India offers numerous platforms and programs to help youth excel in their careers through government courses. Those aspiring to become craft instructors and acquire the necessary skills and knowledge can apply for CITS admission. The central government provides training for both skills and knowledge of Craft Instructors under the Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) program. The program aims to provide skilled and industry-ready manpower to become proficient craft instructors for Industrial Training Institutes.

Enrollment in courses under CITS at National Training Institutes (NITs) and Institute of Training of Trainers (IToTs) for the academic session 2024-25 is through the All India Common Entrance Test (AICET). The candidates can also get admission to private colleges via this entrance test. The admission form for courses offered by central institutes under DGT is available on the NIMI online admissions portal.
Application Details
Candidates wishing to become Craft Instructors can apply for CITS admission on the NIMI online admission official website. Although the authorities have not released the notification for the NIMI admission form yet, based on previous years, the online application form is expected to start on 15 June 2024, with the AICTE exam on 21 July 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following criteria to apply for CITS admission:
Age Limit:
- Minimum age: 18 years
- No upper age limit
Educational Qualification:
- ITI certificate from the National or State Council for Vocational Training
- Degree or diploma in a relevant field from a recognized board of Technical Education/University with at least one year of experience
Exclusion:
- Candidates with Craftsmen of Excellence (CoE) certificates are not eligible.
Application Fee
Candidates need to pay the following application fee based on their category:
- General/OBC: ₹500
- SC/ST/PH/EWS: ₹300
The application fee can be paid online during form submission. Note that fees might change as the notification for this year’s admission has not been issued yet.

- Visit the official website of NIMI at https://nimionlineadmission.in/
- Find and click on the CITS admission application link for the 2024-25 session.
- Register as a new candidate to get the login credentials.
- Log in with your credentials and access the application form.
- Fill in the required details carefully, including educational qualifications and communication details.
- Review the entered details, lock them, and proceed to the next stage.
- Upload the scanned passport-size photograph, signature, and supporting documents.
- Pay the application fee online as per your category.
- After a successful transaction, you will receive a confirmation message.
- Save or print the submitted application form for future reference.
