The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has opened a correction window for GATE 2026 application forms. Candidates who submitted their applications with errors can now make necessary changes until November 3. The correction facility is available on the official websites gate2026.iitg.ac.in and goaps.iitg.ac.in. Applicants can modify details including name, date of birth, examination city, paper choice, category, and gender by paying applicable fees. Charges vary depending on the type of correction, ranging from free modifications for certain fields to Rs 1500 for specific category changes. Some corrections like parents' address, college name, and qualifying degree details can be updated without any fee. The GATE 2026 examination will take place on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, covering a total of 30 test papers. Candidates are urged to verify all information carefully during this period as no further modifications will be permitted after the deadline.

Fee Structure and Permitted Changes
The official notification specifies that corrections to name, date of birth, examination city selection, or existing paper choice require a payment of Rs 500. Changing gender to female also costs Rs 500. However, changing gender from female to other categories has different charges: SC/ST and PwD candidates pay Rs 500, while others must pay Rs 1500 (Rs 500 plus Rs 1000). Similarly, switching category to SC/ST costs Rs 500, but changing from SC/ST to another category costs Rs 500 for female or PwD candidates and Rs 1500 for others. Certain details such as parents' or guardian's address, correspondence address, college name, location, roll number, and qualifying degree can be corrected completely free of charge. No further modifications will be allowed after the correction window closes.
