UPSC Recommends 114 More Candidates From CSE 2024 Reserve List — latest details

The Union Public Service Commission has recommended 114 additional candidates from the Consolidated Reserve List of the Civil Services Examination 2024 to fill remaining vacancies in various Central Services. The list is now available on the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in. This recommendation includes 94 candidates from the General category, five from Economically Weaker Sections, 13 from Other Backward Classes, and one each from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories. These candidates will be appointed to prestigious services including the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and other Central Services under Group A and Group B. The Department of Personnel and Training will directly inform selected candidates about their appointment details. Earlier, on April 22, 2025, UPSC had declared final results recommending 1,009 candidates against 1,129 notified vacancies.

Vacancy Distribution and Appointment Process

A total of 1,129 vacancies were announced for the Civil Services Examination 2024, distributed across multiple prestigious services. The Indian Administrative Service received 180 posts, the Indian Foreign Service had 55 positions, and the Indian Police Service was allocated 147 posts. Additionally, 605 positions were designated for various Central Services Group A, while 142 posts were under Group B Services. These latest candidates have been recommended according to Rules 20(4) and 20(5) of the Civil Services Examination Rules 2024, following a request from the Department of Personnel and Training. However, the candidature of 15 individuals remains provisional pending verification. With this recommendation, the remaining posts are expected to be filled soon.
