The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the date sheets for Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for 2026. Both exams will begin on 17th February 2026. This marks the first time CBSE has announced date sheets nearly 110 days in advance, made possible by schools submitting their List of Candidates on time. For Class 10, the board will conduct two separate examinations following recommendations from the National Education Policy 2020. The early release aims to help students prepare better and reduce exam-related stress. The date sheets are available on the official CBSE website. All examinations will start at 10:30 AM. The board has carefully scheduled exams to avoid clashes among over 40,000 subject combinations. Additionally, CBSE is coordinating with the National Testing Agency to prevent overlaps between board exams and JEE Main.

AI Curriculum Development and Expert Committee Formation
CBSE has formed an expert committee to develop a curriculum for Artificial Intelligence and Computational Thinking. The committee is led by Professor Karthik Raman from the Department of Data Science and AI at IIT Madras. A stakeholder consultation meeting was held, involving CBSE, NCERT, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, and external experts. The initiative supports plans to introduce AI curriculum in all schools starting from class 3 beginning in the 2026-27 academic session. Currently, more than 18,000 CBSE schools offer AI as a skill subject from class 6 through a 15-hour module. For classes 9 to 12, AI is available as an optional subject. This expansion reflects growing emphasis on technology education in Indian schools.
