2 min read

Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar has warned that strict action will be taken against Neerja Modi School in Jaipur if it is found to have blocked officials investigating the death of a student. A nine-year-old Class 4 student named Amaira, who was a single child, allegedly jumped from the fourth floor of the school building on Saturday. A parents' association claimed she took this step after being scolded by a teacher. The minister visited Amaira's home on Sunday and assured that the family's concerns would be included in the investigation. The government is examining how the school received its no objection certificate and affiliation from the Central Board of Secondary Education. Both the education department and CBSE are conducting separate investigations to determine the facts and decide further action.

School accused of blocking investigation team

On Saturday, a six-member team from the education department was sent to investigate the incident at the school. District Education Officer (Elementary) Ram Niwas Sharma reported that the team was not allowed to meet the principal or any management representative despite waiting for over one-and-a-half hours. The main gate remained locked from inside, and staff members did not respond to repeated knocking. Sharma stated that such non-cooperation would invite strict action. The minister confirmed that if claims about the school obstructing the probe are proven correct, exemplary action will be taken against the institution. He emphasized that the government is investigating every aspect to ensure the truth emerges.
