57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas will open in 17 states and union territories of India. The Union Cabinet approved this. The schools will be in districts without KVs, aspirational districts, left-wing extremism affected areas, and northeastern and hilly regions. ₹5,863 crore will be invested in this project. It will benefit 87,000 students and create 4,600 new teaching posts. Education Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared this information on X. The new schools aim to provide quality education in remote areas. Currently, 1,288 KVs operate in India with 14 lakh students. Three KVs also exist abroad in Macau, Kathmandu, and Tehran.
