Telangana Scholarship for ATC, ITI Students: ₹2,000 Monthly Aid Announced

1 min read

Hyderabad, September 28 – Telangana Chief Minister has announced a ₹2,000 monthly scholarship for students pursuing vocational training at Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs), earlier known as ITIs.

The scheme will begin from the next academic year and aims to reduce the financial burden of living and study expenses, especially for students from economically weaker families. Officials said the assistance will be credited directly into student bank accounts, ensuring transparency and timely support.

Education experts believe the initiative could boost enrolment in skill-based courses, offering students industry-ready training in manufacturing, construction, and services. With industries facing a shortage of skilled manpower, the government hopes this will bridge the gap between training and employment opportunities.

Parents and students welcomed the move, calling it a step to restore dignity in vocational education, often overshadowed by traditional degree programs. Analysts say the policy will strengthen Telangana’s position as a state investing in youth skills and employability.
