New Delhi, September 25, 2025: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday launched the book “Living The Vivekananda Way – Practical Spirituality For Modern India” at a ceremony held at Delhi University. The book has been authored by young writers Ananya Awasthi and Nikhil Yadav, and focuses on making the teachings of Swami Vivekananda relevant for the present generation.
Congratulating the authors, Pradhan said the book highlights Vivekananda’s wisdom by presenting the core principles of the Vedas and Upanishads in a practical form. “This is the source of inspiration for our Gen Z,” he told reporters, adding that Vivekananda’s ideas of oneness, universal brotherhood, and fearlessness remain timeless.
Delhi University Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh also addressed the event, recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks on Vivekananda’s enduring faith in youth. Singh said the Prime Minister has often emphasised that Vivekananda trusted the new generation to shape India’s future.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Education Minister described the book as a “commendable initiative” that would act as a practical guide for young Indians navigating modern challenges. He added that Gen Z are “the biggest safeguards of our democratic ethos” and that the book will inspire them to imbibe Swami Vivekananda’s values.
The event at Delhi University drew wide attention for linking Vivekananda’s vision to India’s contemporary youth, underscoring the relevance of spirituality in modern education and national development.
