Noida to Set Up 1,200 Stray Dog Feeding Points, Authority Announces

1 min read

Noida: The Noida Authority has confirmed plans to establish 1,200 stray dog feeding points across the city. The initiative follows a Supreme Court directive aimed at regulating animal feeding and reducing conflicts between residents and street dogs.

Officials said the project, estimated at ₹2.5 crore, will be rolled out in coordination with RWAs and AOAs. Dedicated feeding zones will be marked with signboards, and penalties will be imposed for feeding animals outside designated spots.

In addition, the Authority has tied up with NGOs to conduct vaccination and sterilisation drives for stray dogs. This two-pronged plan is expected to improve public hygiene, ensure animal safety, and bring order to residential sectors.

Residents welcomed the move, saying structured feeding points would reduce daily clashes over stray dog feeding in common areas. The Noida stray dog policy is now being seen as a model for other NCR cities.
