New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened the seat resignation facility for NEET UG 2025 Round 1 and Round 2 candidates. As per the notification, the option will remain active from September 19 (2:00 PM) to September 24, 2025 (6:00 PM).
Under the guidelines, candidates who did not receive an upgrade in Round 2 can resign without losing their security deposit. However, those who joined an allotted seat and later opt to resign may face forfeiture depending on the circumstances.
MCC has clarified that resignation will be valid only if candidates complete the process through both the MCC portal and the allotted medical college. Failure to report physically at the institute will make the resignation invalid, leading to full deposit forfeiture.
Steps include: logging into the MCC portal, selecting resignation, downloading the confirmation slip, and physically submitting a resignation letter at the allotted college. Candidates must secure acknowledgment from both MCC and the college to finalize the process.
