Delhi Air Quality Worsens: AQI Hits 353, Anand Vihar Crosses 500Saralnama

353 was Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) on Thursday morning. Most areas recorded AQI between 300-400, indicating 'very poor' to 'severe' air quality. Anand Vihar hit 511 AQI at 5 am. Health experts advise limiting outdoor activities until AQI improves. Delhi had the worst AQI among eight metros. Bengaluru and Chennai stayed below 70, while Ahmedabad and Mumbai recorded 110. Artificial rain trials in Delhi are delayed due to lack of suitable clouds. Environment Minister Gopal Rai said the trial will start once clouds form. Despite Supreme Court orders, people burst firecrackers on Diwali, worsening air quality. Stubble burning in Punjab adds to pollution. GRAP-I measures are in effect, including anti-smog guns and water sprinkling. Doctors recommend N95 or double surgical masks outdoors. (Updated 23 Oct 2025, 10:48 IST; source: link)
