Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the UAE will play a T20I tri-series from 29 August to 7 September 2025 in Sharjah. This series helps teams prepare for the Asia Cup starting on 9 September. Afghanistan’s squad includes captain Rashid Khan and new players like Abdollah Ahmadzai and AM Ghazanfar. The tri-series uses a round-robin format where each team plays the others twice. The top two teams will play the final on 7 September. Afghanistan faces Pakistan in the opening match. If Afghanistan reaches the final, they will have one day to rest before their Asia Cup match against Hong Kong. The series is important for Afghanistan to regain form after their last T20 matches in February 2025. The UAE and Pakistan also use this series to prepare for the Asia Cup.
