Vijay Shankar, the experienced Tamil Nadu all-rounder, is leaving his home team. He has got permission from Tamil Nadu Cricket Association to join Tripura. Shankar was unhappy about being dropped from Tamil Nadu’s playing eleven recently. He started playing for Tamil Nadu in 2012 and scored over 3,000 runs in 58 Ranji Trophy matches. Tripura will play in all three domestic formats next season. Hanuma Vihari, another former captain, also moved to Tripura. Shankar hopes for more playing chances and a fresh start with Tripura in the 2025-26 season. (Updated 28 Aug 2025, 00:57 IST; source: link)
