A popular myth said Kapil Dev never bowled a no-ball in his career. This is not true. Kapil Dev bowled no-balls, even in his first Test match in Faisalabad in October 1978. The myth started because old scorecards did not record no-balls against bowlers before 1984. These incomplete records made people believe he never overstepped. Kapil Dev was still a very disciplined bowler and one of India's greatest cricket players. He took over 400 Test wickets and led India to win the 1983 World Cup. His achievements remain great, even if he bowled some no-balls. This shows that even legends can make mistakes, but their success is what matters most. (Updated 27 Aug 2025, 18:18 IST; source: link)
