Pakistan cricket teams are facing a decline due to instability in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). A three-hour meeting was held in Lahore recently to discuss the problems. Frequent changes in players, coaches, and team management were blamed. The National Cricket Academy closure and fewer bilateral matches also hurt the teams. Pakistan men team ranks seventh in Test cricket and eighth in T20Is. Their last ICC title was in 2017. Top players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were dropped from the top contract category. PCB plans to return to longer home-and-away series from 2027. Officials want long-term appointments for captains and coaches to improve team stability. Domestic cricket academies will reopen soon, with hopes for better results within a year. (Updated 27 Aug 2025, 15:08 IST; source: link)
