Ravichandran Ashwin retired from the Indian Premier League (IPL) on 27 Aug 2025. He played 16 seasons and took 187 wickets in 221 matches. Ashwin was part of five IPL teams, including Chennai Super Kings, with whom he won two titles. He is the fifth-highest wicket-taker in IPL history. Ashwin retired from international cricket in 2024 and now plans to play in other franchise leagues worldwide. He thanked the IPL, BCCI, and all teams for their support. His wife also shared a heartfelt message wishing him success in new ventures. Ashwin is one of India's greatest spin bowlers with over 500 Test wickets and many records.
