Gloucestershire cricket club will spend £3.3 million this winter to build four international standard changing rooms at their County Ground in Bristol. The upgrade aims to improve facilities for both male and female players and prepare the ground to host major England matches and future World Cups. The club is also considering a possible move to a new site at Swanmoor Stoke, but the refurbishment will ensure the current ground remains top-class. Gloucestershire will receive £400,000 from the sale of shares in The Hundred teams, which will help pay off club debts. Despite a pause in the County Championship during The Hundred, Gloucestershire has done well in the One-Day Cup, reaching the quarter-finals after six wins in August. The club wants to be part of any future expansion of The Hundred competition. Bristol will host six matches in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup next June, and England, Ireland, and Scotland will co-host the Men’s T20 World Cup in 2030.
