Ravichandran Ashwin Retires from IPL, To Play in Overseas Leagues

Ravichandran Ashwin retired from the Indian Premier League on 27 Aug 2025. He played 221 IPL matches since 2009, taking 187 wickets. Ashwin last played for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025. He thanked all IPL teams and the BCCI for their support. Ashwin said his IPL career ends but he will now play in cricket leagues outside India. He retired from international cricket in 2024. Ashwin played for Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Rising Pune Supergiant. He also captained Punjab Kings in 2018 and 2019.
