Ravichandran Ashwin retired from the Indian Premier League on 27 Aug 2025. The 38-year-old off-spinner ended a 16-year IPL career with 187 wickets in 221 matches. He played for Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiant, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals. Ashwin started and finished with Chennai Super Kings, winning IPL titles in 2010 and 2011. He thanked the IPL, BCCI, and all franchises for their support. Ashwin plans to explore playing in other cricket leagues worldwide. He had retired from international cricket in December 2024.
