Former Tamil Nadu captain Vijay Shankar will leave his home state team to join Tripura for the upcoming cricket season. He has received a no-objection certificate from the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. Shankar, 34, seeks a fresh challenge after limited playtime in recent tournaments. He has played 70 First Class matches, scoring 3702 runs and taking 43 wickets. Shankar has also led Tamil Nadu to three titles, including the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Tamil Nadu coach M. Senthilnathan appreciated his contributions and said this move opens chances for younger players. Shankar follows Baba Aparajith, who moved to Kerala earlier. This news comes shortly after Hanuma Vihari announced his move to Tripura, aiming for more playing opportunities. Both players bring experience and hope to improve their careers with Tripura.
