Hanuma Vihari, the Indian cricketer, has moved from Andhra to Tripura for the 2025-26 domestic season. He was granted a no-objection certificate by the Andhra Cricket Association. Vihari said he was not selected for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and felt he did not get the respect he deserved in Andhra. He also skipped the Vijay Hazare Trophy last season as Andhra wanted to try younger players. Vihari was the captain of Amaravathi Royals in the Andhra Premier League 2025 and was named Player of the Tournament. He wants to play all three formats of cricket and help Tripura become stronger. Vihari said he hopes to add value to Tripura cricket as a senior player with 14-15 years of experience. This move marks a fresh start for him after a difficult time with the Andhra team and association. (Updated 26 Aug 2025, 20:49 IST; source: link)
