Konidela Sivasankara Varaprasad, known as Chiranjeevi, was born on August 22, 1955, in Andhra Pradesh. He debuted in cinema with the 1978 film 'Pranam Khareedu' and gained stardom with the 1983 film 'Khaidi'. Notable films include 'Mana Voori Pandavulu', 'Rudraveena' (which won a National Film Award), 'Gang Leader', and 'Indra'. He is recognized as a skilled dancer and has acted in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada films, including Hindi remakes like 'Pratibandh' and 'Aaj Ka Gunda Raaj'. Chiranjeevi was the first South Indian actor whose film 'Kodama Simham' was dubbed in English. Politically, he founded the Praja Rajyam Party in 2008, which won 18 seats in the 2009 Andhra Pradesh elections before merging with the Indian National Congress in 2011. He served as Union Minister of State for Tourism and was a Rajya Sabha member from 2012 to 2018. His upcoming film is 'Vishwambara', with its teaser released on his birthday.
